A stroll through the historic, narrow alleys of the town centre, a glass of local wine with a little tasty, home-cured Speck pig meat, a sit in the sunshine to day-dream of ... South Tyrol - the land of four hundred castles, countless stately homes, terraced vineyards, cool dark cellars, leafy walks, splendid parks and gardens ... and so much more! Meran is known for its shady arcades with their tempting shops and elegant boutiques so, perhaps, some shopping in the morning fortified by a welcome cup of fragrant, frothy Cappuccino, a lunchtime visit to the modern Kunsthaus art gallery and then a few hours at the very popular Botanical Gardens at Trauttmansdorff Castle or a look at historic Tyrol Castle with its fine collection of exhibits. Then, an early evening aperitif in a local wine cellar and meal at a first-class gourmet restaurant later on. So much to choose from!.
