Walking

Feel the contrasts between Alpine and Mediterranean influences on architecture as well as culture, stroll through the quiet side streets of the villages and shop in the bristling city center of the health resort. From Merano/Merano, the signposted Sissi trail lets you follow the footstep of the beautiful, legendary empress and leads to her former residence at Trauttmansdorff Castle with its wonderful gardens.

Hiking

The area around Merano stands for a real clash of southern and northern cultural and natural influences. Take your time to discover the Mediterranean vegetation of the valleys along the old ravines as well as the stunning, 3,000 meter mountains which offer marvelous vistas. One of the highlights of any stay is the beautiful high-altitude trail which leads around the Giogaia di Tessa/ Texelgruppe Nature Park.

Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking requires a soft movement which protects your joints and is ideal to discover the nature in an especially intimate, unusual way. There are many forest trails and meadows which are perfectly suited to this activity, making the region a real paradise for Nordic Walking aficionados. There are even dedicated Nature Fitness Parks where you can learn this technique under professional supervision.

Running and jogging

Move your legs and discover the region in your running shoes. Sprint past flowery meadows, atmospheric forests and marvelous vineyards and fruit gardens. We know all the best routes and would be only too happy to give you some advice as to where to find the best views and the most stunning, pristine nature. Choose a route that is ideal for your skill and fitness level – the varied nature makes sure there is something for everyone!
