Merano/Meran is a cultural city with a rich history. At the turn of the century it was a supremely popular resort with many a noble family and wealthy visitors from all of Europe. Hence, in only a short space of time, around 500 marvelous villas were built which still dominate the architecture of Merano/Meran today.
