History

Meisters Hotel Irma in Merano/Meran has a long, spectacular history of 87 years – the best part of a century. The story starts in November 1924, when Irma Meister inherited the picturesque Villa Ludwigsburg which was built in 1898. Soon she turned the house into the small Irma guest house which in the beginning features 20 beds and one bathroom only. The first guests were summer vacationers from Germany, Austria, Belgium and Holland. During WWII, the Red Cross used the hotel as a military hospital.
