Pets at Hotel Irma

Irmi is our three-colored cat. She is probably the laziest hotel cat of all time and sometimes simply isn’t in the mood to socialize. We adopted Irmi 25 years ago when we found her napping at our doorstep, and ever since then she has been a happy member of our family.

Our two swans Sissi und Franz Joseph proudly inhabit our sea rose pond. In 2001 we put over 70 sea roses in our 600 m² pond, and the swans love nibbling on their sprouts.

Very popular among our pets are our two friendly ducks at Hotel Irma, such as Felix and his ladies and the white ducks Elke and Sieglinde. Do those names ring a bell? That’s right, they are named after Ilse Meister’s sisters! We even think they look a bit similar…

Sadly their daddy died a tragic death when he was run over on the driveway to the house, but 6 young chicks will make sure he is not forgotten. The other ducks are aunts and uncles and other former lovers. RIP Felix – we will take care of your little patchwork family at Meisters Hotel Irma.

Our hotel hedgehog Luis is an entertaining character. We have named him after the popular chancellor of South Tyrol in fact. Luis loved strolling around the lake after the sun goes down, look at the hotel guests, hoping the cats will leave him some food behind.

Not strictly one of our pets, Schmusi is the neighbor’s cat. She always has a smile for our hotel guests, and Meisters Hotel Irma is her second home. In particular, she loves resting on the comfortable garden deck chair on page 181 of Villa Amore.

Dear guests, let us introduce to you our latest family member at Meisters Hotel Irma. We found Hilde work on her winter’s shelter while the much appreciated then mayor of Innsbruck, Hilde Zach, was staying at our hotel, and swiftly named the woodpecker after her.
