Over the last few months, we have worked intensively towards respectfully optimising processes and creating ideal conditions to offer you a relaxing holiday.
We invite you to discover a lot of refreshingly new, but also tried and tested elements. At the new Irma you can enjoy the service and amenities of a hotel together with the even more private atmosphere and freedom of an apartment. Allow us to surprise you!
1. Even more space for sophisticated accommodation and more privacy:
- We have enlarged the rooms in the main house, 2-3 of the former rooms have become a new suite, so the space offer has doubled.
- In the noticeably more spacious rooms, the living and sleeping areas have been separated. More space and comfort for living, reading, watching TV, working and even dining in the room.
- We have added some new hotel lifts.
- Along with many small, really useful touches which are perfectly tailored to the needs of our guests. All suites now feature a coffee machine and a fine tea selection, so that you can start the day enjoying a cup of a hot pick-me-up drink. After an eventful day in nature, you can enjoy freshly mixed drinks and local snacks from the extended minibar in the bathrobe.
- Our balconies are even larger. Great for fresh air lovers, because the large terraces are almost an outdoor living room. Here you can read comfortably, soak up the sun, sleep outside at night on the thickly padded sunbeds or dine comfortably al fresco. Wonderful!
Everything is perfectly suited for short and longer stays. Thus, the new Irma invites you for stays of any length of time. Short-term guests are just as welcome as those looking for a second home for several days, weeks or even months.
2. We dared to try something new and have become a refreshingly different, very charming aparthotel. Your home away from home with the comfort of a hotel, the culinary variety of a favourite restaurant and the freedom of your own apartment:
- Enjoy our new dine around. We are gourmets and like to think outside the box ourselves and so we want our guests to get to know South Tyrol in all its culinary diversity.
- Even though our guests are completely thrilled by our new, beautiful Ristorantino (small but very fine) with the deliciously refined creations of our top chefs, we don't want to deprive you of the tempting restaurants in Merano and surroundings! Especially since our Ristorantino is closed on Wednesdays.
- And so we don't offer a classic half-board, but for all those who like to stay "at home in the Irma" in the evening, the finest Alpine-Mediterranean delicacies by candlelight in our Ristorantino, and for all those who want to go out, plenty of culinary insider tips.
- Our concept always includes our great breakfast. Because the panoramic breakfast above the rooftops of Merano is a true place of longing for our guests. Thanks to the mild climate, you can spend around 195 days a year outdoors - simply enjoying the beauty of a holiday in South Tyrol!
- Our so popular breakfast and the afternoon cake and ice cream selection remain as varied as ever and are still included, but are now protected by glass.
- Experience the new comfort of our spacious suites, with magnificent mountain views, seating and dining areas (both indoors and also outdoors on your terrace) with fully equipped kitchenettes.
- Discover one of the many restaurants within walking distance. Perhaps a pizzeria, a South Tyrolean inn, an Italian trattoria or a Michelin-starred restaurant—they are all only a short walk away. We have hot suggestions and are glad to book a nice table and also organize a taxi for you.
- We do not offer lunch or dinner as part of the halfboard this year.
Consequently, the COVID standstill was not a standstill, but a time of creation. The renovation works are finished. We remain loyal to you and to ourselves, while daring something new. The heart of the house with its unique tranquillity in the middle of the park, the view of the mountains, the warmth of the people who live and work here, all this is still there and gives the Irma its unique charm.

In order to plan your holiday with more peace of mind and security, we have changed the cancellation conditions in favor of our guests. For bookings with an arrival before the opening, the deposit already paid is converted into a voucher with no expiry date.
